DIY Warp Bracelet

Hey everyone!! I finally have a new DIY for you guys, Easy to make Warp bracelet.  It makes a super cute summer time bracelet. Lets get started:

Materials:
  • Rhinestone chain or ball chain
  • Round leather cord or flat leather/suede cord (Make sure it thick or wider this will be use as your bracelet base.)
  • Pliers and wire cutters
  • Two cord ends and jump rings
  • One clasp
  • Glue
  • Hemp cord, Embroidery thread, or flos

Step 1: Cut a piece of leather cord, or whatever material you are using, about 6 ½ inches long.  It is better to cut the thread shorter than your wrist because you will add finishes to the end of the bracelet. I am using a round leather cord piece I had left over from an old project. Use your wire cutters to cut the rhinestone chain. This could be any length you desire, measure it with the cord you are using as your bracelet base.

Step 2: Use a cord end to finish the leather cord.  Insert the cord beneath the center plate. Then using your pliers press it firmly to the cord. (Tip: you can also place a drop of craft glue to secure it the cord end to the cord.)

Step  3: Tie the hemp cord to leather cord and start wrapping it around. Once you’re a few centimeters in lay the rhinestone chain in place and start wrapping the hemp thread around the chain tightly. Continue wrapping the thread once around/ between each link. When you reach the end of the bracelet make a knot to secure it. (Tip: If you are using thinner thread you can wrap it multiple times around/between each chain.)

Step 4: Using your pliers to twist it open a jump ring and attach it to one cord end then twist the jump ring back to re-close it. Do the same to the other cord end, add a clasp when you open the jump ring and then re-close it.

This is only one design I did a tutorial for but there so many different way to make a warp bracelet. So get creative and design your own. Send me a picture of your designs.

Book Con= Fail!!!

So this past weekend my friend and I went to Book Con, a  book convention (Now you know why I haven't posted any new DIY's.)  I love books and I was hanging out with my friend so it was fun. But for the actual event I was highly disappointed it was not as epic or as big as I thought it would be. Maybe because in my mind I kept comparing it to Comic Con I expected it to be the same level of awesomeness. First of all the place was kinda of small and it was packed. There were long lines for everything and people were kinda of rude, they would cut you off and bump into you, Not very nice. But the exhibitors were very friendly. I got a free book sign by very nice author and got lots of free totes. There were a lot of authors I never heard about so that was a let down. The most annoying thing was that next to book con was another convention: Book Expo. OMG that looked way better than Book Con. It was bigger, less crowded and there to more exhibits. It looked so empty compared to Book Con. What sucked was that people with Book Con tickets couldn't enter the Book Expo but people with Book Expo tickets could go Book Con so not fair, I felt rip off. Overall this event was a fail, could have been better. But I had a great time with my friend. I hope next year they promote more the Book Expo because it looked so much more grand than Book Con. I would have went there instead of Book Con.  So let me know if any of you guys went to Book Con? What did you think? and Did you ever go to any other convention? Tell me about your experience?
